Mack Performing Arts Center
Wes Carlson Studio for Dance and Theatre
The dream of a performing arts center began with former Arlington Memorial Principal Kerry Csizmesia who believed the Arlington School District could play a role in making a performing arts center a reality. Mr. C met with several individuals and organizations to secure funding for the center's construction including Arlington Arts & Enrichment Program board members. From that meeting, a partnership developed.
More than $650,000 was raised from private donations including the campaign's early supporters: Don Kendall & Mack Molding, Gary Goldberg & Diana Meehan and Perez & Elizabeth Ehrich. On September 6, 2007, the Mack
Performing Arts Center & Wes Carlson Studio for Dance and Theatre was dedicated. With the help of many, the dream of a 150-seat community theatre became a reality.
Today the Mack PAC & Carlson Studio serves the school and local community--it is home to AMHS and Fisher Elementary School plays and concerts, guest lecturers and school assemblies. The Mack PAC has also been utilized by numerous community groups who need a space large--or small--enough to meet their needs, including a local church congregation, which needed a temporary place to gather after the destruction of their building during Tropical Storm Irene.
